Swarnalata Sattiraju

Swarnalata ("Lata") Sattiraju peacefully passed away on October 24, 2026 after a brief illness. She was born on June 24, 1942 in Kaikaluru, India and raised in Hyderabad by her parents Kodanda and Hymavathy Chiruvolu. She was the third of seven children. Lata graduated from Osmania University with a degree in English Literature. She worked as a teacher until she married Ramakrishna Sattiraju on February 10, 1966. They were married for 38 years until his passing in 2004. Lata was a homemaker until she rejoined the workforce in 1986 with ADP where she worked for 14 years. Lata taught Telugu School for children in her community and volunteered for years at the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Bridgewater, NJ.

Lata's greatest passion came as a wife, mother and grandmother. Predeceased by her husband Ramakrisha, she is survived by her daughter Usha (Manish), son Ravi (Eileen) and her loving grandchildren Rohan and Sofia Vig and Anna, Kieran, Conor and Maya Sattiraju.

Friends and family can pay their respects at the viewing on October 29, 2026 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Lester Memorial Home at 16 West Church Street, Jamesburg, New Jersey. The funeral will be on October 30, 2026 at 10:00 am at the Crematory at Holy Cross, 228 Cranbury-South River Road, East Brunswick, New Jersey.
