Marlboro Township, New Jersey
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Nina Melnichenko, 87, of Morganville,NJ, a compassionate and loving soul, who departed from our world on May 22, 2026. Born on September 8, 1938, in Chernovtsy, Ukraine, Nina's journey of life was an intricate tapestry of empathy, creativity, and endless love. She was a beacon of light and warmth to all who were fortunate to know her. As the famed painter Van Gogh once said, "There is nothing more truly artistic than to love people," and Nina was an artist in every sense of the word.
Nina was a creative force who left an indelible mark on the world of theater. She spent her career as a makeup artist and wigmaker, imbuing life into characters and delighting audiences with her talent and passion. However, her creativity was not confined to her professional life. Nina was also an avid gardener, a brilliant cross-stitcher, and a culinary enthusiast, filling her Marlboro Township, New Jersey residence with beauty, color, and sumptuous flavors for 32 years.
Nina was a devout Christian Orthodox and found immense peace and solace in her faith. She was the beloved mother of Vadim Miller, who survives her, and the cherished daughter of the late Alexander Melnichenko and Lidiya Melnichenko. Nina's love for her family was boundless, her empathy immeasurable, and her spirit, ever radiant. As the poet Rumi wrote, "Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul, there is no such thing as separation."
Funeral Service and Interment will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Marlboro Memorial Cemetery and Mausoleum at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Arrangements are under the respectful care and direction of Funeral Director: Christine Cuoco and Lester Memorial Home, 16 W.
