Libero J. "Johnny" Guzzo Obituary (1934

Libero J. "Johnny" Guzzo, 78 of Spotswood died Saturday June 16 at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Guzzo was raised in Monroe Twp. and lived in Jamesburg before moving to Spotswood 47 years ago. He was employed for 33 years by the I.B.M. Corp., Dayton retiring in 1991 as an illustrator specialist. Previously he was employed by the NJ Turnpike Authority. Mr. Guzzo was a veteran of the Army National Guard of New Jersey. He was past president of the Soccer Coaches Assn., Spotswood, a sports director for I.B.M., former member of the Spotswood Knights of Columbus and a softball and baseball umpire. He was an avid Mets and Jets fan. Mr. Guzzo is predeceased by his parents Anthony and Josephine (Auggello) Guzzo and his sisters Mary Buley and Aurora Bosch. Surviving is his wife of 47 and a half years Rosalie Gracchi Guzzo, three sons Anthony and his wife Gina of Toms River and John Jr. and Andrew, both of East Brunswick, his daughter Lisa Jackson and her husband Bruce of Brick, his brother Lucky and his wife Rita of Monroe Twp. and five grandchildren Gianna Rose, Andrew Jr., Kaila Emily, Nathaniel Bruce and Christopher Libero and many nieces and nephews. Services will begin 10 a.m. Wednesday June 20 at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg followed by a 10:30 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. James RC Church, Jamesburg. Burial will be in the St. James cemetery, Monroe Twp. Visiting hours for friends and relatives will be Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 and Wednesday 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted by the Guzzo family.
