Lewis D. Emens Iii Obituary (1944

Lewis D. Emens III of Lehighton, Pennsylvania died Sunday July 16th at his home. Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, Mr. Emens lived in Jamesburg and then South River, NJ for 30 years before moving to Lehighton in 2003. He was employed for 39 years as a carpenter through the Carpenters Union Local 1006, Milltown, retiring in 2001. Mr. Emens was a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and a former member of the Jamesburg Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Surviving are his wife of 50 years Eileen Mooney Emens, his two sons Lewis J. and his wife Gina of Spotswood, John and his wife Iris of South River, his two daughters Eileen Brooks of Panama City, FL and Susan Emens of Buford, GA, his mother Gudlaug Emens of Jamesburg, his brother James of Jamesburg and his five grandchildren Daniel and Angela Carpentiero and Lewis D., Nicholas and Jeffrey Emens. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday July 21st at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery, Jamesburg. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Thursday 4-7 p.m. and Friday 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
