Carmela A. (Dipierro) Damiani Obituary (1922

Carmela A. (Dipierro) Damiani 95 of Monroe Township died Sunday April 8th at her home. Born in New York City, Mrs. Damiani moved to Monroe Township at the age of 3 and has been a lifelong resident since. She was employed as the secretary at St. James RC Church during the 1970's. Previously she was employed by Bell Telephone as a telephone operator in Jamesburg and during World War II by the U.S. Army in Edison as a secretary. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Star Unit 127, Jamesburg, a parishioner of St. James Church and a member of the Monroe Democrat Party. She was predeceased by her husband James in 1989, her son Edward J., her sister Elizabeth Catena and her five brothers Michael, Charles, Louis, Michael and Joseph. Surviving are her daughter Carol Ann of Monroe Township, her three sisters Theresa Krause of Robbinsville, Rose Blauer Grant and her husband Ray of New Egypt and Antoinette Tumas and her husband Richard of New Egypt, her brother William Dipierro and his wife Gina of Monroe Township, her granddaughters Monica Lauren Damiani O'Donnell and her husband Brian of Bridgewater and Diane Michelle Damiani of Hillsborough, her two great grandchildren Brian James and Braelyn Hope O'Donnell, her daughter-in-law Anita Damiani of Hillsborough, her sisters-in-law Helen, Bernadine and Gloria Dipierro, Florence Sloan, Mary Damiani and brothers-in-law Ted, Nick and Quinton Damiani and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday April 12th at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg followed by a 10 a.m. funeral liturgy at St. James RC Church, Jamesburg. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Burial Park, S. Brunswick. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. James Church for the church renovations.
